Have you seen Downes lately?

The idea of a Social Media Cafe is cool. I am currently in the process of planning and developing the opening of my own Social Media Cafe. I it is a cross between social networking and a coffee shop. My website will be open in 2008, and the opening of a cafe/cyber-cafe will follow some months after once the site is fully operational with all planned site features.
I thought of this idea since I was a kid, but wasn't until last year that I started really mapping it out to develop a solid plan to create a offline community/online community that can connect in the cyber-world and in the real world.
Social Media Cafes will be a wave of the future, in my mind. My goal with my cafe is to make the internet more social. I also would like to start influencing fellow Americans to become more social in there busy lives so they can keep up with current events and gossip to know what is actually going on in the world, instead of living life blind. Interactive cafe networks would create a strong community online and off, and also would connect people closer together so that we can actually keep up with current affairs etc.. in our busy lives.
