Comments: On Slow Blogging

I think that's a great idea... I tend to write fairly spontaneously on my blog, and have of late, really cut back on the volume of 'news' posts about what I'm up to... I distribute that stuff around the social networks instead, as Myspace bulletins, facebook fan-page messages etc...

But I could still filter off 'the best of my blog' as a set of edited, reconsidered essays on a topic... maybe I'd do them as quarterly e-books or something.

Anyway, I love that spontaneous element of blogging, but I also appreciate the considered journalism of people willing to put the time in and offer something of greater consistency.

I definitely agree, plus this is a method we still use on producing newfocus, not running like brijjit, but printing articles, reading them offline. An article can receive a 'bestof' tag only if two editors printed and read them independently and submitted to the system. Not that takes time.
